Outside of my comfort zone...

I have been working on a sewing project well outside of my usual realm.  Here's a hint.  I'll post the photo shoot when it is done.

More to come!

SR Harris

For those of you who are SR Harris fans, or who want to check out their store, they are opening a new store in Burnsville MN (southern Twin Cities).  Their other store is northern Twin Cities.

SR Harris web site:

My, oh my.  I'm definitely going to have to check that out, even though I told my husband I didn't really need any more fabric.

My MOB dress

Here is a quick post on the dress I made to wear at my daughter's wedding.  No specific requirements from the bride.

It is the first wrap dress I have made.  I think it came out pretty well.  I love flounces!  If I'd ever wear dresses, I'd consider make more wrap style dresses, however....

This is the "wrap" I made and I was glad I had it when it cooled down in the evening.

Hubby bought a coordinated tie to wear.

Very Occasional Post...How to Buy Fabric

I know, I know. I have been out of the blog habit but I just had to share this wonderful link. It's an "important" essay on How To Buy Fabric - you just HAVE to read it.

DressADay on How to Buy Fabric

On a more serious note, for those of us who would like to see the US textile industry revived a bit, I am starting a list of USA made (and sourced) fabrics.  Please help improve this list by sending me additions or corrections.
